I had a conversation with PC Wallace this afternoon, he is planning to try and intercept riders that are apparently riding on Mutters Moor and East Hill Strips mainly on Sunday afternoons. If the word can be passed around to let riders know they are likely to get there collars felt if they are found deviating from the bona fide lanes.

Is it worthwhile letting them know which lanes are legal? Just to save them some embarrassment!

 That's not a bad idea.

We did similar with some lanes near Woodbury Commons when Clinton Devon Estates said our lanes were illegal to ride but we were proved correct biggrin

Well i don't think someone driving over the 9th hole on the golf course helped public relations neither wink

Its a bit hard to put in a straight line with ruts about unless they cut the hole at the end of said rut and funnelled the ball into the hole wink

I hope they get a result smile

I ran through the legal lanes in the area with PC Wallace, its the off piste riding they are responding to having been prompted by Clinton Devon Estates and the Forestry commission

The primary role of the police is to prevent crime, not catch criminals, the chief inspector of constabulary for England and Wales has said.

In a nut shell, get out on the ground and find out what is going on, i cannot remember the last time a police person actually came up and spoke to me other than ask me what i was doing !! nonono
