Just for info, lidle in Plymouth are doing optimate style trickle chargers with 6v and 12v car and bike in one. Around £13. Still using one bought 4 years previously and still works fine. In the gumph they seem to have a similar charge / discharge cycle to the much more expensive ones but no guarantee.
