Tis that time again, to remove ye ole moth ridden cow hide money holster from the back of the settee and pay the TRF a very reasonable fee for another twelve months membership. You may have seen the following before, but for those who have not, here are several good reasons to fill out a membership renewal form or log on and let yer visa card take the strain, and get renewed. Devon TRF group is one of the foremost groups in the country, so lets be the first group back up to full strength in 2009. Devon TRF Group 2008 successes. A Principal Officer now moves amongst us lesser mortals now that our own Treasurer is national Membership Secretary. The launching of a new fundraising format in co operation with Wheeldon Off Road activity Centre. Increased support for our traditional fundraising events.
New(ish ) members stepping up to take on actual roles within the group with the possibility of a reprieve for the longstanding few'.
Mapping (paper and electronic) brought up to date with e info being shared by a significant minority through the use of both Google Earth (free!) and Memory Map overlays with over 1,100 "checked as legal" unsurfaced routes available throughout Devon.
Since the start of the DTRFG new open forum on the 30-8-08 there have been about 30 runs advertised (most filled within a few days !)Over 40 run reports (most with pics) have been submitted to the forum. There have been day, night, weekday and weekend runs from 3hrs to 12hrs long covering north, south and east Devon mainly (with the odd trip to Dorset and Wales for good measure).
There have been runs to include all abilities including a couple of one-to-one novice sessions to build a bit of confidence, a ladies-only day, a big traillie run and there are now plans for a retro day (80's twin shocks etc)
