Your national TRF has been looking at a proposed PR campaign for the forthcoming year.
Debbie and myself wil be attendiing the national exec tomorrow and i've been asked to provide Devon's thoughts/response.
Can you please follow the link and log on to the national site and read the Pdf file. If you have views either way please PM me asap. Sorry it's a bit of a rush!
I have chosen to show a link rather than pasting the whole doc on the forum as this info could be valuble to the anti's.
I had a quick look through the proposal and it looks okay, might even increase membership and attract more people to trial riding.
Can we do anything more direct?
It seems there are two battles being fought, public opinion and government. Is there anything we can do to help fight against this directly through our MP's?
I don't really understand what is going on in government circles but I have been known to send a few letters so maybe if everybody (Nationally) sends a letter to their MP's we could achieve something.
Debbie and myself attended the exec meeting as promised on Sunday at the Black Country museum in Dudley.
Expecting the meeting to be hard work it turned out to be OK with a fair amount established. I will compile a full report for the Feb Newsletter.
A few of the Devon/Somerset members kindly gave their views on the proposed PR campaign for 2009. At your request I voted in favor of the proposal which you will be pleased to know this was carried forward.
On another positive note, two members expressed an interest in the vacant National PR officers role, Mark Williams, Mid wales group, Richard Simpson, Glos group. A vote was held and Mark Williams was accepted in the role.
One particularly interesting event was a quick talk from the NHS Blood and organ donor service. Cornwall have been exploring a lead with the service which will include the TRF being closely involved with promotion of blood donation, possibly including the TRF getting local and national press coverage as well as being involved with a very worthwhile cause. Natasha, who gave the talk is herself involved with Motor sport and could help to see us joining the service in a joint promotion exercise. Watch out for further info.

Good initiative, as long as people don't think that TRF membership increases a person's chance of being dead and therefore able to donate organs.
