Paignton Bike Nights Mean Prizes! BMAD Bike Nights are back starting June 2nd, 2010!

Hello from Torbay!

Bike Nights are also sponsored by local dealers and businesses who attend the event. One lucky rider, whose bike is chosen by the sponsor, will be given a prize each week!

Gates open at 6pm for our regular Wednesday bike nights. This runs between June and the end of September on the sea front at Paignton. Please note that there will be no bike night on Wednesday June 9 because the green has another booking. Also Wednesday 28th July has had to be moved to Thursday 29th, but apart from those two dates it is every Wednesday as usual.

2010 Bike Nights are listed below.

June 2, June 16, June 23, June 30.  (Please Note on Wednesday June 9 there is NO BIKE NIGHT)

July 7, July 14, July 21, Moved to THURSDAY July 29

August 4, August 11, August 18, August 25

September 1, September 8, September 15, September 22, September 29

The location is ideally positioned for the gathering of bikers and thanks to the agreement with Torbay Council only motorcycles, trikes and quads are permitted on the road during that time. If it's got handlebars then you're welcome so no Robin Reliants (unless they are chopped)

Bike Night is intended to be a place to get together like minded people and at the same time raise money for charity. Having said that, the event has become very popular with both locals and tourists who are just amazed to see so many bikes in one location and is now becoming an unofficial tourist attraction during the summer months.

Riders and Pillions are urged to donate £1 per person to have the privilege of parking on the seafront where they can then take the opportunity to admire other bikes, compare notes and grab a cup of coffee or an ice cream.

A special request - when leaving the sea front please resist the urge to open it up towards the end of the prom, we have had a few complaints and we don't want any reason to have Bike Nights stopped, thanks.

Some of our the accommodation providers welcome 1 and 2 night stays during the bike night season, so if you feel like paying us a visit and you are travelling some distance please contact them. For full listings see our web site http://www.bmad.co.uk/accommodation.html

We went tonight. We were the "XT" twins on the 250 and the 500. Saw Kermit, Kev Jones and Pete Bull there, saw a few other folk we recognised as well but my old age brain can't recall names to put with the faces!

Bloody busy down there but the weather was right for it, lovely evening. Had a veggie burger, chippies (no pasty though - sorry Brian) and several cups of coffee. Met up with a mate and wandered around looking at all the pretty bikes. Saw 2 more XT250's that were identical to Lorns - she was gutted, then saw a Serow the same as hers as well.

Lovely Vincent there, loads of BSA's Triumphs and Nortons, even one of the super rare "Kenny Drere" 961 versions!

Ran into Kelvin and his Missus and got an invite out to France to stay with them - must, I mean I really MUST get a passport.....

Good night seemed to be had by all.
