Split cycle engine

How about this for new engine technology.  Could be in our bikes in a year or 2 if they can develop a light enough engine.  see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scuderi_Engine

was there not an engine that used a form of crank case compression with a disc valve induction/injection, using the crank case area as a primary cylinder and then transferring the compressed mixture to the cylinder via piston controlled transfer ports?

Suzuki Stinger twin cylinder stroker 125cc..... quicker than any 125cc twin of the day.... but lousy fuel consumption at 17mpg
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

rotax made a very good air cooled 2T like you mentioned used by can-am /swm /moto gori
you would change the flywheel witch had diffrent port [convig] openings to change the engines power band they were very good.but then sombody invented the reed valve ? and the industry went with that p.s 2Ts work with the idear of mixeing fuel in there crank cases ?
