I was walking in Scarson woods (Holicombe to ****ington area torbay) which are obviously old roads made up of much labour. There were no souls about and I was thinking in these austere time of budget cuts they should close this for a day and charge the TRF £5 - £10 a rider for two hours use ... councils need to raise cash, no one else using the resource sounds like slam dunk, then to me then my better half mentioned insurance, health n safety.....
Blanket waiver of an irredeemable nature signed by Devon TRF could resolve?
Think the local councils would rather get the money by increased parking charges/taxation/budget cuts than EVER give land over to those damned pesky bikers
But do agree that Scarson woods would be a lovely venue........ don't think you can even ride a pushbike through there though, unless it's classed as a bridleway?

There is a bridleway through it but only BMX tracks as far we could see no dobbin prints. Some demanding hill climbs and only two access points (okay three but two are less than 50 yards apart). I agree councils reagrd bikes as a pesky nuisance but they really do need to generate revenue and a deep valley like that will have create limited noise pollution and is easily marshalled. I'll try and tap up a councillor for views -
Whats the insurance situation when a landowner allows the TRF to use his MX track?
Nice idea mate but tooo much red tape and the councils would rather do what ming said
H+S has gone nuts as everyone knows but it would only take one or two good events to get things on the plus side like the forest riders are trying to do in wales but then on the negative side it only takes one idiot to **** it up for the rest of us
