Guys, sorry to bang on about this one but it would be great to get as many of you guys at the Dolphin as possible.
Although there is formal stuff to do on the night, we will keep this to the minimum and focus on getting done then socialising i.e. eating of festive fare and the consumption of cool gassy liquids.
If you only attend one meeting this year please make it this one!
Tis that time of the year again folks, the 2010 AGM will be on Tuesday 14th December (as the normal group meeting). It will be held at The Dolphin Hotel Bovey Tracy and will commence at 8pm. As AGMs go we have worked hard over the last few years to make what can be a dreary event into something more enjoyable.
It is a bit of an old cliché but, this is your chance to have your say on how the group is run. On a semi serious note Devon group has had a fantastic year through RoW, events and for just getting out there and riding the bikes, this is our chance to reflect on this, to voice your thoughts and ideas, and to set ourselves up for another cracking year in 2011.
The agenda will be kept to the absolute minimum and will include the following;
·A brief summary of news for December
·Introduction from the outgoing chairman
·Officers reports for 2010.
·Nomination and acceptance of officer roles for 2011.
·AGM Summery from the 2011 chairman.
·AOB
·Prize raffle.
The Christmas dinner at the last two years AGMs worked out well so we will be doing the same this year, The Dolphin has a 3 course Xmas menu and Landlord Rob has offered to do a 2course version for us at £12.50. Alternatively the normal menu will be running. As we dont hold a specific Xmas social event this is a fine chance to kick off the festive season with the riding mates. Can we ask all those wanting to eat to be in the bar and ordered by 6.30pm and if possible phone and book a table before the night. Phone 01626 832413 and quote, Devon TRF,when booking.
We are also holding a free, yes free! Raffle during the evening, prizes inc, a Pirelli MT43, Free TRF membership for 2011, Waterproof riding gear, a case of beer, chocolates. Dont forget to get your free raffle ticket from Debbie on the night. Only TRF members may enter.
For those who feel they have more to offer Devon TRF the agm is the ideal time to express an interest. If you have a skill that you feel would be useful to the group, or if you have time on your hands please feel free to jump in and get involved, (we can make payments to cover expenses and time for Rights of way work when applicable).
If any member would like to nominate another member for an officer role please make a representation or nomination to myself or any other current officer within one week of the AGM. (This list will not be exhaustive, but is intended to reduce time during the meeting).
AOB, were ever possible please forward any points of business you wish to discuss.
We very much look forward to seeing as many members as possible on the night.
Just a quick update on the roles we need to fill for 2011.
All roles are available but many 2010 officers are willing to continue within the roles for 2011, this leaves us with the following vacant officer posts.
Vice Chairman
Equestrian Events Co-ordinator
The vice chairman is fairly self explanatory but to add; the projects you might pursue or time you have to give is completly down to the individual. You will need to support the members, officers and the wider trf organisation.
For the equestrian role, anyone could forfill the role but it might be easier if you have knowledge of all things horsey. The main objective will be to organise marshalling and fund raising at equestrian events and to further our involvement with horsey organisations.
The time required for these roles can vary according to the effort you wish to put in. You are not expected to attend any extra DTRFG meetings other than that of the membership.
Expense claims may be submitted for direct costs to you whist performing the role.
We all know what a fantastic group Devon has become, continuing this does require a few members to step up and go that little bit further.
'YOU' could easily be Equestrian co ordinator or vice chairman and help keep our group on the top!
If any member wishes to express an interest or just find out a little more, please contact me or any other officer.
Thanks
Steve
