First Aid / Medical Kit

Who carries a first aid / medical pack?

What do you carry in it?

What are the common trial riding injuries?

1/ Nope but guess I should.....

2/ Nowt as above

3/ For me - Busted ribs (twice), but I'd say in the main bumps N scrapes - maybe an eyewash as getting stuff in your eyes in summer seems quite common.

I carry a Lifesystem Trekker First aid kit, with a few extras added. Comes in a small bag and can be worn on a rucksack or waistpack strap. It contains:

Emergency rain cape/shelter thingy
Antiseptic wipes
Triangular bandage
Bandages
Tape
Siccors
Ibuprofen
Paracetamol
Gauze swabs
Sticky plasters/dressing strip
Gloves
Safety pins
And, an inflatable nurse!

Don't know what to do with most of it, much like the tool kit that I carry! But, hey ho!!!

Chris.

I am an ex-army medic and I'm still pretty much up to date. I was just wondering what the typical injuries are and how you guys deal with it. My pack might be considered a little over the top!!!

That looks like a pretty good kit.

How about adding  a Sam Splint and 4 inch and a 6 inch Trauma Dressing? Fantastic together for broken limbs. The Trauma dressings are designed to cover any wound and provide compression. In fact add them to your current kit and jobs a good un.

I do like the idea of an inflatable nurse as long as it's female wink
