Some of the first trail riders - on Harleys!!!!

We managed a bit of off roading on harleys on a trip in America - the road just ran out, but the SatNav seemed to think it was OK, so we tried it. Not quite as hard core as these guys!

Motorcycles were invented before tarmac was thought of, people sometimes forget.
The photos make a lovely reminder just how truely spoilt todays motorist is.
Apparently T.E.Lawrence (of India) loved to go along the (unsufaced) Bovey Straight at over 100mph on his Brough Superior!
