RE: Bike stand with lift wanted

Hi Dez and welcome to the forum!

Good choice of first trail bike by the way wink

These are the more common stands:

The first is the most common and the cheapest.  Works fine with a good high lift but the TTR has to be manouvered onto it as it doesn't have the ground clearance that most dirt bikes have.

The stand below is similar but has an adjustable platform so can be wound down to slide easily under the TTR. It has the advantage of a damper so that it lowers the bike gently to the floor rather than drop it with a big bang as happens with the stand above. I use one of these all the time and it is an excellent bit of kit. If you have the room then it is possible to swing the TTR around through 360 degrees on it smile

If you are going to be doing a bit of engine work then the following stand is ideal and I use one all the time in the TTR "operating theatre" - great bit of kit but a bit heavy if you have to move it around a lot.

I bought one of the stands pictured below for my R1150GS and it was ideal but, when I sold the Beemer it was unnecessarily big and used to trip me up a bit in my confined workshop space so sold it to by the scissor stand.

So, what do you reckon you fancy?
