Gas Gas Insurance with ebike insurance

Have just been informed by ebike insurance that their underwriters are no longer accepting quotations for or providing insurance for any Gas Gas vehicles as of 29th June 2011.  So go elsewhere and get your insurance

I have demanded from them proof of no claims discount, and a written statement that cancellation or non renewal of my policy was in no way any fault of mine

Suggest that if anyone else gets a similar letter, they do the same

I have also told them, that I shall be taking the insurance for my other bikes elsewhere as well

Anyone else in the same position

I hope I am not going to be in the same boat - I have two bikes insured with ebike and always found them good cry.gif

Does ebike give any reason for their decision?

What's so special about Gas Gas bikes? It's not natural Gas Gas that requires double premiums is it? biggrin

Seems rather negative to me that they should be turning customers away.

They are fine for Hondas.  Must be something to do with anti Spanish or Holocaust.

Another reason not to get a Gasser disbelief

Seriously though - be interesting to hear an explaination and I hope its not going to spread to other companys or spanish bikes (just got the lad a Rieju).....hmm

Mine is with Carol Nash, no probs there, although I hear they load the premium for Austrian bikes, something about cost of repairs I think?!

I gave up on e-bike a couple of years ago. A measly 3 points and the web site shuts down on you!

Just in the process of getting quotes now for my DRZ as my current insurer decided to reward my loyalty by putting it up a tenner - best so far was Swinton £62 fully comp with NCB protection. That's £20 less than the renewal.
Being a good sport I have give Suzuki insurance the opportunity to beat that quote but I doubt they will.

Oh, I found this good price on compare the market.

Got a reply from ebike insurance,  They are not cancelling policies but their underwriters are no longer interested in covering Gas Gas "motor vehicles"  strange terminology but thats it

Will be looking for a new insurer for all my bikes on my return,  if they can afford to turn business away like that, I dont really want anything to do with them, beginning to sound like another dodgy insurer, nudge nudge wink wink, we will give you a certificate but dont bother trying to claim

Rich, I was with Swinton up to the end of May. Like you I found them to be the cheapest last year, but the renewal price was through the roof this year and they woulnt even match my best found quote to keep the business.

£ weeks later and Im still waiting for my proof of the last 2 yerrs NCB

Thanks for the heads up Paul.
My current insurer has meet me half way (which is still a tad cheaper than last year) plus thrown in free legal cover, so I'll be staying with Suzuki insurance for another year.
