Hi all, as it says on the tin, I know it's the old Rotax lump so not as good as the later model but how true is the talk of build quality and poor lights/ naff electrics etc.
Anything specific I need to look out for (rather than general things about second hand bikes)
What kind of general on road economy can I expect (thinking a swift commute- not caning it) 40mpg or closer to 50?
I did a quick search of the site, but seems to vary dep on model.
big big beastie in the devon lanes powers not a issue ? had a moto crosser version years ago great up the hills not so good any place else heavy slow turning great motor though bit of a artic compared to husaberg / ktm and the rest ?
The build quality for a older machine cannot be faulted and this shows in the weight but as it is a Dual Sport (Trail & Super Moto), i have had mine nearly a year now without any issues. Always starts on the button never had to kick start it yet. Cant see where there is a problem with the electrics. The Rotax engine might be old now but there are fairly bullet proof, low service intervals unlike the modern four strokes you can even change the cam belt without major surgery unlike modern machinery.
Andy why not pop over this weekend and take a look at my 604 and bring the Trumpet.
