WR450F Starter Motor

OK, so I have posted a similar post before but cant find it.

My bike has been with Jez in Exmouth for a new cam chain tensioner this week and I asked if anything could be done with my starter.

The answer - NO.

If anyone has/knows of a starter for a 2004 model please contact me.

Thanks

What's the part number Paul? Is it this one http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/2004/WR450FS%20-%20WR450F/STARTING%20MOTOR/parts.html  ?

A new one from the States would be about £280 inc shipping, customs and VAT and Parcel Farce charges.

Simmo, Thanks I found that about 2hrs ago myself.

TTR, I did check on boat.net and there seems to be 3 numbers one of which is the same as simmo's link so im guessing it will match???

It would be an expensive guess if you got it wrong Paul!

Best to phone Fowlers with your frame/engine number and on the pretext of getting a quote also get the correct part number wink

Hi Paul, i trial fitted the starter to my WR to test it and it does not fit. The mountings are in a different place which is very odd as the same engine is used?
