Insurance - again....

Rather than confuse things by tacking a message on to an old thread. I thought I would start a new one biggrin

eBike has decided to hike my annual premium from £168 to £230. The increase is almost exactly the amount of credit I hold on my account for past referrals - odd that eh? evileye

I need a comprehensive policy for two named drivers and at least 4 bikes on it at any one time. The bikes change regularly so there must be no admin fee (or a very small one) and, preferably, I should be able to make changes online and print a new certificate from my PeeCee.

Any ideas as to a company that could quote me happy please?   wink

e-bike are not the cheapest but the good thing with them is as you say Brian, the vehicle changes up to 4 bikes are easy to do and don't normally cost.

The cheaper companies claw it back if you make changes ................or fail to read the small print and forget to sign/return the monthly payments credit agreement form and then stick £24 on an annual policy of £60 for the ttr!furious

I went with MCE for my Triumph Brian, and at TPFT it was cheaper than the WR to insure   For a few quid more I could go FC, so I did. I don't know if they could meet your other requirements, but it may well be worth aksing.  Oh, and as they're sponsoring BSB, you can get some good stuff on this front too if that floats your boat wink

Get someone else to get a quote from ebike with your requirements and see if it is cheaper.

Ring them up and threaten to leave, see what they say.

Why not try a motor trade policy.

As far as cars are concerned you can be a part time trader with a full time job as something else.

I'm a self employed mechanic and I pay £500 fully comp and have 2 cars and 2 bikes belonging to myself and also drive anything in connection with the business.

Might be worth looking into

Ebike total rip off merchants, try to make a claim and you deal with half a dozen different loss adjusters, solicitors, doctors etc

After my ding a couple of months ago, I went to see the ebike medical examiner concerning the personal injury claim, he recommended a specialist physiotherapist, I got a letter from ebike saying that a string of appointments had been set up, and if I missed any they would charge me £120 per missed appointment

The physio was excellent really got my ankle working well in short time, this week however they phoned up to cancell the last appointment, ebike has now decided not to pay and it looks like I am going to have to fork out for the bill, oh and guess what no one at ebike is available to comment

So heres the point Ebike you have a piece of paper that satisfies plod and dvla, as for anything else forget it, so if you value your bike or your health stick well clear its not worth the paper its written on

Re problems with ebike:

Insurance ombudsman?

Financial Services Authority?

Southern Rock? (their underwriters)

Brightside Group Plc? (their parent)

Watchdog?

Yakuza?

I would like to have a motor trader policy. I asked Mrs TTR a few monthas ago to try and get a quote and I think after a couple of morning's hassle and getting nowhere, she gave up cry

Who did you go with?

B*gger! Wish I had taken that in first time around Nige. Just wasted 20 minutes trying to get a multi-bike quote for two riders and thought there was an option on the quote screen to add another bike that I couldn't see no

Reports from another forum are that all premiums are currently seeing massive increases so now, more than ever, it pays to shop around.

Cheers,

John
