Hi all, 8 of us Cornish boys are planning a trip ito Wales sometime in May.
I have contacted a guy who runs Llanerchindda Farm, Carmarthenshire who can accomodate all 8 in a self catering cottage for three nights. A guide will be provided for the two days riding and the rates seem very reasonable.
The reason for my post is to find out if any of you guys have stayed here and to get your feedback please.
Most of us have ridden in Wales and love the superb trails but none of us have ever stayed here.
Your comments will be appreciated. (And no i dont want to stay in a tent Harty)
Stayed there a couple of years ago excellent place a little tad expensive but it was still worth it , food good and there knowledge of where to ride is good aswell .
Read that Peter for a good idea of your weekend. If I remember rightly, the guide looked about 60 years old at Llanchinnda, but after speaking to a load of 20 year olds on KTM's at the end of the day being led by him, they were fooked, he was one hell of a rider apparently!
The B&B was good and clean, but a top tip. The breakky was from 8 - 9 in the morning, so I toodles down at 8.40 for cooked brekky and nothing left! I was told that "once it's gone, it's gone", so none too chuffed and had to suffice with weetabix Anyway, get down to breakky early. Also I know the year before the lads went into Llandovery for an Indian meal instead of eating at the B&B.
Have a great time, you'll be spoilt rotten with the choice of mutton, as there's plenty of it, unlike the Cornish sheep that are a bit used an abused

Stayed there a couple of months back, and prior to that about 10 yrs ago. Much better now, really helpful owners.
Stayed in the self catering cottages, it was great. Took asda curries, beer, bacon etc, Was quite nice to get back from a drenching on the Strata, have a washdown, light the fire and crack open the tinnies!
If you don't fancy microwaving the meals were always descent in the main b&B. If you fancy eating out a descent pub is not too far away, a short taxi ride.
Would I go again...yes, it is planned already.
Didn't use a guide this time round but imagine it is always nice to follow someone rather than navigating yourself sometimes. Managed 2 days follwing the gps/maps etc. Descent chippie in Rhayader for a lunch stop
Thanks Nic, Mike and Harty for your replies I think were on to a winner, not sure about the curry but mother said she will do a bag full of pasties. I will book it tomorrow.
As for the sheep Harty I always like to think of them as experienced rather than abused.
Bloody hell that was great looking back at that report, thanks harty i had forgotten how good the weekend was
Peter excellent time at the B+B and the meals were great with some stunning views on offer from there location, close to some awesome trail riding heaven, just adds to some of the most enjoyable trail riding ever
you just need the weather on your side and bingo - sorted
you will love it up there peter, be interesting to hear where the guide takes you, the strata and reservoir route is a good days riding with great scenery!
