good evening sir, I am one of i think 2 on here who are entering this event. The Action South West events are great fun, for racing and just having a day out with no traffic to worry about. This year they are running 6 endurocross events and 2 hare and hounds events. Now, endurocross over here is very different to the american endurocross. The american one is set is a stadium like supercross. It has a short track with very difficult obstacles. Check it out on youtube. ASW endurocross events are tracks that are not as long as hare and hounds events and are usually quite wide tracks (so that pros and novices can both enjoy riding without getting in each others way.) They are not very difficult to get round and tend to contain less hardcore natural sections and are more flowing with a few motocross style jumps. On the day of these there are 2 x 1 hour races to compete in. So, if your riding for the competition, these are more about your speed and ability to keep at that sped for the hour. Hare and hounds with them are much longer tracks and are normally 1 x 2.5 hour races. There are more natural obstacles and tend to favour the more technically skilled riders, although these are not very difficult either. I haven't done an event with them since i was 16 (5 years ago) but in the hare and hounds events there was lots of very muddy sections and quite a few technical hill climbs, drops and stream riding.
The guys who run it are awesome and very helpful! In my first one all those years ago i fouled a plug on my cr125 and a marshal put me on the back of his wr400 and rode me many fields back to the pits to pick up a spare plug and rode me back!
Even if your not into the racing they are brilliant and i have 2 friends coming along both on KTM 450s just for a day out!
I will be there and will be trying to race but i have only had my gas gas 125 for 4 weeks and haven't ridden before then for about 3 years so i will be very near the back!

The ASW website doesnt seem to work very well - cant get past the front page. Is it done under ACU licence, or are they going to make me shell out for an ORPA day licence or something similar?
No licence required. So off with number plates ectso you dont lose or break them, or enter on a crosser.
I will PM you the organisers number. Ring him Give him your details and payment. They send you a load of medical forms to fill out and your number for the year.
Send it back then just buy each race through paypal on their website.

me and my son marc did this event, out first attempt at enduro, endurocross, entered as novices, hard work, good track, aching today, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Glad its not just me them. Bit achey, weak as a lamb today. First H and H type event for 2 years - done a couple of time cards, but nothing like this for a while.
Not a massive fan of the format, I have to say. 1 hr race, 2 hours waiting, then 1 hour race. Glad the sun was out, would have been a nightmare hiding in the van in the rain for all that time. Cant really see why they cant stick the youth out for their second go as soon as we finish our first, instead of waiting an hour.
But on the whole a good day. New bike was brilliant - cant fault it, just need to learn to ride it better.
Competitive motorsport - every one should do it at least once. That feeling you get on the start line is indescribable!!!
Monty, sorry i missed you at the event! Hope you enjoyed it!
I agree the long wait between races was a bit annoying started to warm down and get a bit stiff just about the time i had to get back on for the second!
I see the next event on the 15th is a single 2.5 hour hare scramble!
Think i will be sitting at the side of the track having a rest if i am to finish it!
I think if you do all the events our fitness will improve and the next day will be less painfull!

Was going to ask the same question. Cant find anything on ASW or Tacktimes website. I'm sure the girl who took my transponder said they would be done by tuesday night at the very latest.
There was definately an official photographer there as well. Theres links on the ASW website. Nothing there yet either.
