Need to get a chimney lined, and a log burner installed by a qualified person, have had some totally ridiculus quotes so far by larger companies selling and installing, am cosidering buying direct so I just need a qualified installer, any suggestions or help appreciated.
Clayton I did mine myself including the stove installation - it is really easy then got I building reg approval. I did mine off a ladder, the HETAS fitters will prob need to use scaffolding hence the cost.

Most stove installers charge £350 for fitting, decent stove £1000 and about £50 - £100 per metre for various quality steel liners. Just bare in mind as to where you live, as some council building control's charge £350 just to inspect and sign the work off.

I can reccomend Dean Forge in Dean Prior or Ashburton Stoves. Good friends of mine but don't let that put you off. Teignbridge charge £250 for certification. Stove prices have rocketed due to regulation, it cost circa £25k to get a stove tested and certified. Dean forge have made their own range of stoves for 30+ years and have a factory employing local people.
Thanks for all your very helpful advice gents, I will be in touch with the relavent parties when I decide whether to do it myself, or look for an installer.
