SORN anyone got away with this in the past?

Anyone know the ins and outs of SORN, guess what, I didnt tax or sorn my bike whilst I was away for the summer. I did hear once that the DVLA dont have any power to enforce any of there fines. Anyone got away with this in the past?

if you have a fine you will have to pay it , if you dont pay it they could take you to court , best off paying the fine (if you have one) could be more hassle than its worth if you dont

I got caught once, when I re-tax'd at the post office I was advised that I'd be hearing form the dvla and fined, I never heard...

My mate on the other hand did something similar recently and was fined so paid it...
