I had a pair of Alpine stars - wore them for 1 ride and flogged them, like chuffing ski boots and gave no feel at all good protection but I don't do motocross so do i need it? - prefer a bit more feel myself and wear trial type boots.
Was out on Sun and noted out of 6 riders at least 4 of us wearing these

Hey looking for some new boots. Not really sure what kind to get. Some alpinestar tech 6 but they seem a little big/bulky and make it difficult to change gear when stood up. looking to spend as little as poss really. Any ideas would be great.
I've used Tech 3s and Tech 8s (I love the Tech 8s, especially with the inner booty) -- and despite how they look they are extremely comfortable and never had an issue changing gear whilst seated or stood. If and when my Tech 8s ever need replacing, I'll be replacing them with ..................Tech 8s.
I use Diadora stone 3 boots look very similar to the forma boots, they seem to be a good boot, however my last pair were Hebo Eco trails boots bloody awful they lost all shape and support in a few months, Nora Battys wrinkled stockings would have been better
If you are looking for a waterproof pair of boots that's another matter I don't think that they exist
