Insurance for 'Adventure Riding'

Although I have travel insurance to cover the usual gubbins, is there anywhere I can get bolt-on insurance to cover off-roading in Europe, prior to our imminent Portugal trip? It would need to cover medical and repatriation - not much more than that really, but would need to cover off-roading on rented bikes.

Any recommendations?

It may be cheaper and easier to simlpy take out a full policy which includes this cover.

Me and Rich used AA Single Trip Insurance after a bit of fadying about, plus they were recommended by some riders who also ride off-road in Europe

Try https://travel1.endsleigh.co.uk/SingleTrip.aspx

Select Single Trip Essential Cover and then extend your cover to Sports and Adventure, Category 1 which includes motorcycle touring off road (no racing)

(along with gorilla trekking biggrin)

This is what the Adventure Rider Centre recommended. About £45 for three of us.

The cover we used was cheap but would mainly only cover things classed as highways (which would be classed as green lanes here).

Thanks folks.

I've taken out an Endsleigh policy with category 1 sports cover (off-road motorcycle touring - no racing). I have only bought cover for the 3 days that we will be riding, and excluded baggage (we all have annual travel insurance to cover this side of things anyway).

Came in at £35 for all 3 of us, with 11% (£3.50) cashback through Quidco as well!

A tenner each for peace of mind is well worth it, I feel.

Yep, I also feel insurance for stuff like this is important. It gives you peace of mind for yourself but also if something happens to another member of your party you all know there is insurance and probably emergency contact numbers to help get things rolling quickly.
