That was my second guess, to which Mark hasnt replied (via Facebook) My first was that white road near Newton Ferris, the one discussed at a semi recent club meet that that Motoring Club didnt want to challenge. Mark said i was about 20miles out with that guess!
You got it Pete!! Can tell buy the shape at the bottom of that tree not sure why you can only see half the picture though, its fine for me,makes it even more impressive you recognized it
I have seen it deeper than that, but only once about a decade ago, the only other time I have seen it flood. I refused to go first and only followed once someone else had made it through, with water up to the petrol tank. Love the smell of wild garlic there in the spring, and the BMX jumps have added an interesting feature in recent years.
I had already posted my guess when I realised that I could probably confirm it by trawling through the Petecam archive, so I took a video snap shot from as close to the spot as I could from the first one of the eighteen clips I found there filmed in that end of Bittams lane.
I knew it would be Pete that got it...well done. What do you win? Well you maintain your lane knowledge excellence award - and that's priceless
It did look very deep when we got there, but Dave (KatoomDave on here, recent TRF member with a nice Freeride 350) waded the whole length first to make sure we werent going to lose our bikes!! He'd previously not done this on -192 and the water reached the underside of his bars - requiring transport home and a careful and succesful recovery of a drowned engine.
