The Highways people, despite claiming poverty at every opprtunity, has found a bit of spare money from somewhere and decided to spend it here.
Currently impassable due to large 360 parked in it, soon to be a lovely clean smooth gravelly motorway. I notice its been removed from the Ten Tors route - used to be the 1st observed section.
This isn't the first time they have repaired the byway. The previous repair lasted several years before the mud and ruts reasserted themselves. The technique they use nowadays may last a little while longer. Time will tell.
The muddy puddle mid lane was a good first Ten Tors section. I fived there one year because I didn't know there was a log lying underwater diagonally across the lane.
