When my lad rode for Pheniox tools honda ,he had new tyres for each meeting then they were used on the practice bikes on week days

Sounds like a fairytale to me.

Once upon a time people gave away tyres after one ride for a tenner.

Mmmmm. Doesn't ring true though does it. 

Maybe 25 years ago......

Times have changed,
Mx teams change tyres after each race but then use them on the practice bikes

how the hell could you be competitive on a half worn tyre ? i have boaught loads of tyres for sub 10 pound of pepole that do motox

I pulled a 1/2 worn Maxxis back from the scrap tyre bin at a tyre place last year, it cost me a £5 donation to their tea club but that tyre was destined for recycling so it should have been free really.
...and by 1/2 worn I mean half the total tread height had gone (not half the use-able tread).

I've since found that an almost worn out Maxxis IT works pretty well on both mud & stone, well... good enough for green laning. I'm still running it now.wink

No, you misread the post, he said they use them for one race then use them for practice
