Well y'all know I've been contemplating getting a 4T as I have too much arm/hand/shoulder pain whilst riding my KTM200. love the bike, it's always been a bit of a handfull but recently the riding pain has been too much. A ride last week on a 250 exc-f was pretty painless.
When I bought the bike I was told it had been set quite stiff - but in checking settings via the manual, all seemed standard.
Last nigh. I spent a great deal of time researching suspension setup. It was only whilst reading one write up that it suspension is always set from fully closed. That got me thInking!! On checking over the bike I found my dialled in settings were all from fully open. So compression and rebound were all well higher than standard !! So spent a bit of time putting all back to standard and then backing off front compression a little & low-speed shock compression. In addition I found my pv set to race settings. So I adjusted this to come in plenty later.
Today the ride was like I was on a different bike. I can't explain how compliant the handling was and how it absorbed so much of the bumps and undulations that previously had been hanging on tightly. The lanes where I previously couldn't stay standing were conquered with relative ease. Only one long uphill lane did I suffer with a bit of hand cramp - but I can't have it all.
So my plans have now changed and the bike stays. My grips are pretty worn too - so some new pillow grips will help further.
So happy now as really didn't want to part with my little beast.
Did re-read the KTM manual and there's no indication that settings are taken from fully clockwise. The only part amongst these settings is the front fork preload which mentions to set from fully counterclockwise - so surely I'm excused from my minor error.
Anyway good result (I am also aware the warmer weather helps with any joint pain - but the bike rides so much better I'll just have to wait until winter).

Cool. Glad to hear you and the machine have come to an 'understanding'.
It is quite amazing how much the suspension settings can change and even transform the feeling of a bike. Get it right and harmony reigns with effortless riding and big grins. Get it wrong and aches and pains from the extra effort of just hanging onto the machine as the undulations of the terrain are transmitted through the body eclipses the grin factor.
It doesn't matter if it's a 2T OR 4T, suspension is everything. If you get it right it's a pleasure to ride. I love my 2T to bits. Four strokes have their plus points, but for kicks it's got to be the smoker.
