Catch The Rainbow Run 9-Nov-13

Riderz - Me, Biff, Adamski

Time - 9:30am > 1pm

Distance - 60 miles

Only a short run yesterday - this being my 7th weekend ride in a row biggrinsmilebiggrin So planned a shorter run condensing as many lanes as possible into a nice little loop not too far from home.

Lanes heading South and West in the morning were horrible due to the low lying sun. Also it took me over 30 miles to find my MoJo and finding my riding not flowing as well as it had been over recent weeks - but I'm aware we all get these hours/days/weeks/months/years* (*delete as applicable) every now and then.

Weather pretty kind to us overall with a clearing sky through the few hours we were out. Water was pretty deep at Bow Bridge, didn't get my camera out quick enough to take a picture of Adam, and Biff whimped out of the that crossing!

I introduced Adam to 202-185 (lane of pain) and I must admit that with "The rut" so wet and muddy it was a chore for all. At bottom of -184 I chatted to my mate (an mx rider) who lives there and said for the second time in a few weeks there was a group out of close to 20 riders! He's pretty open minded but even he said it was far too many bikes for laning. Don't think its any from here, but that number is ridiculous for sustaining our cause.

I was chuffed to clean 202-198, it has got pretty gnarly and last few times I haven't got up smoothly. Think Adam had a mare on this, but conquered in the end.

I was surprised after we got up -085 that Biff said he hadn't done it that way before. It's a great fun lane to go up, especially through the more washed out zone.

Ride ended at 202-110 TallyHo - I didn't get up gracefully, but got up on my own steam without stopping. Not so for Biff whose CO2 lost traction nr the top and I had to help pull him up a short section, whats happening Pete?? and Adam also struggled and needed help over the final section by the tree (he can blame Pete for stopping him smile).

A short ride, loads of lane and mucho fun.

Will I do an 8th successive week next weekend???

Cheers Wackster. Cant be a good read though - as my normal moan of many "Views" and only a single "Reply".

We dont have many that write run reports on the forum and maybe thats because they feel it falls on blind ears!?!!?!?! Sometimes a couple of words is all it takes to make it feel worthwhile.

Not like I've mentioned this many times before......................

I'm sure if pestered I would consider an occasional N/L exclusive.

20 riders sounds like KTRC. Must be a serious shortage of run leaders down west. Here is their run report.

Excellent photo showing the bike and a full rainbow.
