This is what it says on national:

Renew your TRF membership now

Membership is for a 12 month period from point of joining
 Pay by cardPay by Direct Debit
Ordinary membership:£45.00£40.50
Joint membership:£67.50£60.75

So does that mean a member wanting to renew by sending in a cheque pay - £40.50?

That link is for "on-line" payment which, unfortunately, can't be completed with a cheque. no

Cheques can be used by downloading the optional application card, which states

........  a cheque in the sum of £45.00.
