I enjoyed watching that. Hats off to the Suzuki for running right up to the end despite going under water at full chat many times!
Absolutely!
When I saw it go under the first time I thought it might be game over. We've had a few bikes on here (over the years) with engine damage from water ingestion but they weren't Suzuki. I'm not especially a fan of Suzuki even though I have one, they're just one of the big 4. They do appear to have strong motors though.
I was impressed how well the bike took the beating, been under water for that amount of time and It started up so easy, I did think they had lost the bike after the first attempt but the divers did a good job of finding it in that murky water.

No problem for commercial divers to work in water like that, however expect to hear about some severe action against the programme makers as the diving was conducted in an unsafe manner and not in compliance with the regulations covering commercial diving. The professional diving websites are screaming about it, and I don't think it will be long before they are investigated by the HSE. We have spent a long time making professional diving safe in the UK, and not to have good standards ignored by a bunch of cowboys!!!!!!!!!

Well wrong equipment, Use of SCUBA is legally limited, limited gas supply, No communications, Divers not even on lifelines, Black water operations if diver became snagged no one would know
Correct equipment would be surface supplied equipment, unlimited gas supply, voice communications, diver on umbilical if snagged the standby diver goes down his umbilical to effect rescue
UK regulations require decompression chamber onsite if diving 30 metres plus
The divers were just as bad as the production company, flouting every rule in the book, just hope they throw the book at the whole bunch of them COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!
And they did not need to use divers to recover the bike, either fit bike with hydrostatic released flotation device, or fit pinger to bike and a simple ROV with a sonar would have found the thing in no time without putting anyone at risk, all commercially available for hire off the shelf and at very little cost
The bike should have been fitted with a pinger anyway and the divers with hand held locater, that way if the rider had gone down with the bike they would have been able to find him quickly
Rider should have been supplied with a small emergency air supply (about the size of a coke can), that way if snagged he would have had enough air to free himself

X3. Even the wife enjoyed it. Charlie is a well respected boat designer too, have known him for over 7 yrs.
Something good to watch on the box for a change and kudos to Suzuki
The way that bike was repeatedly drowned and resurrected was incredible a two wheel version of the Top Gear Toyota Hilux they tried but just could not kill
So it's seems it was amature hour for the dive team..., so what? Nothing to do with the program but on a side note it is interesting that gaschef saw this and has enlightened us as to what was wrong - thanks Tim.
I also hit google but could find nothing about the dive teams mistakes..., it has now't to do with the program though, was still a great watch.
Oh... and the fish were lucky to get to spend some time with a Suzuki & a Northerner.
Cow boys or not, I thoroughly enjoyed the program right down to the space hopper buoys, I did think 110 kg was a bit optimistic for that Suzuki during the calculations, lol, and I have to say if Guy had used a KTM he would have crossed the lake entirely

Tim has some valid points, being a ex sports diver the recovery method left a lot to be desired. Then again we only saw an edited version. I reckon a commercial setup would have been expensive ?

I thought it was a great programme especially as my dad was watching the bit in saltash wondering what the hell they were up to he knows now lol . Not a bad estimate of the suzuki only 3 kg out bet there's not many bikes could have took that much dunking and still ran
A blast from the past, not seen Richard since the Hobbsport days at Brent Mill in the early 90s, kitted out his stock car with brake, fuel & oil lines.
I started watching it but got peeved with the lowest common dominator over exaggerated commentary. As for the diving, I didn't see that far and couldn't give a toss. Sure it was a good watch though. GM talks too fast for my eyesight anyway.
Guy is inspirational - would rather my son took after him than some useless footballer like that **** Beckham or some X factor 'celeb' like most youngsters take as 'role models
He should be the type we hand out New Years honours to - not chuffing hair dressers

To be fair........he could do with visiting one if he's to get to see the Queen
