Hi there folks. Just after a bit of advice about sump guards. I have a KTM 300 exc and it doesnt have a sump guard which Im keen to get hold of. I looked on ebay and it seems the average price is around 70 pound and its just a folded plate with a few holes in it. I want to have a go at making my own but wasnt sure which bolts it fastens to. Does anyone know which,or even better have a drawing? Thanks Nj
As it happens I've just been fiddling about with mine - aluminium KTM jobbie on a 300exc. Doesnt actually bolt to anything on the bike. The back hooks over the frame rail between the footpegs. The front is held by 2 brackets that loop over the lower frame rails then bolt through the sump guard. Mines off the bike right now, so if you want a few pictures now would be the time.
Hi monty. Didn't realise they fit like that. Thought it would have been bolted on. Yes if you had a few pics then that would be really helpful . Cheers mate nj
Hi D13dkt. Yes that would be totally brill actually. Where abouts do you live? Are they different for different size engines too? Let me know and I can come and pick up. Thanks NJ
