Rich, not sure how much you want to spend but I ended up getting the Drift HD. Great piece of kit and they were doing a 20 % discount to TRF members.

Well you can pick up a go pro 3 black edition with remote for 250 new at argos or curry's, if they have stock. The drift is a really nice bit of kit but I would rather not spend that much even with the discount.

These are supposed to be pretty good, thinking about one myself.

That does seem like a very good price considering all of the mounting options you get. I've been using a Drift HD720 for a few months and I really like it so far, not sure if they've discontinued it though as I can't seem to find a new one for sale anyway...

The Muvi is good but I feel is a little large, Brownie has one footage is very good.

I've got a Muvi Veho that I've hardly used. Awful piece of junk that I can't even be arsed to sell! GoPro Hero 2's can be picked up fairly cheap now the 3+ has been released and with very little difference in quality. I've got a 3+ Black and its brilliant but a little expensive to bolt to my bike!

ive got the go pro hero 2 really good but in the water proof housing in this weather it steams up quickly and the lense is a bugger to keep clean

Can you squeeze a silica gel packet in there, I used to do that with my dive camera housing.

I've been waiting for someone to try one of < these > and report whether a "Action Cam Extreme FULL HD 1080P Waterproof Digital Video Camera with Colour Screen & Accessory Kit" really can be bought for less than a hundred quid.

Cheers,

John

I've found that the waterproof back is only really required for torrential rain or river crossings.  The normal back keeps the rain out unless the camera is pointing backwards.
