been told theres 19 lanes between sourton and tavistock, has anyone done them, just joined the forum thought i might give greenlaning a try to see if its for me,im in launceston and been told theres not many lanes here,so sourtons not to far
a friend cought up with a few riders whiddon down about a month to 6 weeks ago, think the chap was from tedburn st mary, they rode around spreyton area, thought if he saw this post he may be able to shed some light,im itching to get out and give it a go to see what i think
loads of great lanes in the area- some nice easy beginners lanes and some real challenges. I ride them all regularly but am off at the moment with two broken wrists courtesy of a fiat Panda.
If you can wait a few weeks I can take you on a sample ride but suggest you join the TRF, get the maps and enjoy the whole of Devon, not just this litte corner. The lanes remain ours to use because of the efforts of the TRF and it doesn cost much- you will find yourself amongst a great bunch of folks.
Trust me- laning is addictive -you will love it. Safer than the roads in my view
And to think he was still going to ride on and do some more lanes until the wrists swelled up in a 3 mins! Mike and I know loads of lanes and Stevo joins us so we go out regularly and you are welcome to join us anytime. Normally its a Sunday start at 10 or 09:30 ride and lunch then a few more and home or if its an explore mission a few snacks and drink in the bag.
Right wrighty, I wanna know what happened to mike's wrist's I take it the panda was not from London zoo and a car, so if you was leading a run out and knackered one of your riders... I wanna know and ps any photo's of damaged wrist's as we all like a bit of gore

Well it was kind of like this ttr steve.... ther we where enjoying the lanes and near Chagford we had a small bit of road work. I came around the corner only to see Mikes bike very close to the front of the car which had skidded a whole car length before stopping and hitting the bike. If it had been a horse that would have been a fatal I reckon for the horse and rider wouldnt be well either. A few exchanges of views and a whole load of photos we moved everything and took Mike on the back of my bike to the square which Mrs Mike then collected him and off to hospital. Two broken wrists later hes recovering and be back very soon riding although some gentle lanes first I think.
Poor chap couldnt have been going any slower around the corner or closer to the hedge so he no where to go apart from to a stop when the car slid into him. Launceston Steve is recovering from his broken arm slowly and its going to a much longer recovery so 2 broken wrists and one arm isnt a good track record.
Mikes got the pics if he wants to post them I will let him decide. Anyway are you ready for the Dakar as Ive been out every weekend preparing.... even got some new tyres!

yeah but I ain't riding with you, as you are cursed friggin madusa
Ouch you did a proper job of that, (or the car driver did) hope they heal quick and they admit liability! See you in the lanes, when your fixed and how's the bike?
The bike is ok (I think). The forks show no deviation on rotating them in the yolks (when the distance between them is measured) so they look sound. Cant see any issues with the frame either- they are remarkable things arent they. Mind you I was at a practical standstill when skittled off.
If it was a road bike it would probably have been written off!!!!
