Anyone got a generater lying about. Needed to run a 1400w gutter vac.
Or can anyone reccomend a decent make or model. Honda ones go for £400-£500 but don't fancy spending that much.

Fine for what you need, but it offers a modified sine wave, so do NOT think its a good idea to charge your phone or anything with electronics from it.
Use it only for electrical items and no damage will be done
If you are using the gennie as part of a business, dont use the chinese ones.
I speak from experience they wont last.
It is generally the AVR or capacitor that pack up, quite cheap to replace £25 ish for the AVR, £6 for capacitor but a wind up.
Far better to go for a S/H Honda generator, Gumtree have several for sale at the mo.
I know, because Ive been looking for a particular 110v unit for my steam cleaner which has been playing, turned out to be a diode on the CTE set up.
I've got one of these I might sell: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Power-Craft-2200LR-Generator-5-5-HV-Portable-Bouncy-Castles-Campervan-Caravan-/261190512535 Not this actual one, but the same model.
Only 2KVA, but would this do the job?
