as the title reads really, if any Devon trf member would like a change of scenery I am willing to lead them around Dorset's lanes , for those of you that haven't rode any Dorset lanes we have some very good lanes with very good views etc I admit not as many as Devon and a bit more road work to get to them but never less well worth it I can lead a maximum group of five with no minimum number if interested just give me a shout for more info ..... cheers Kev
I might be interested, when would you be thinking of doing it?
I was thinking of a Saturday or Sunday to suit you guys, apart from the bank holiday weekend I am reasonably flexible to which week, would just need a bit of notice. I am happy to lead more than one group on different weeks or you can have a word with Steve H and come up together as a group!
Sunday the 31st of this month would be very good for me, I have to plan my day's out well in advance, as I have a young family. What times do you like to start and finish?
The 31st it is then , riders so far are 1. Kev 2. ttr Steve 3. Russell 4. Kwaka Geoff ? 5.Chriscole 6. ? 7. Smed I know you guys will have to travel to get to me so can you decide what type of ride you would like as I have various options i.e. an all days ride of approx. 100 miles and more technical or a more relaxed shorter ride bit of a mixture with great views on a clear day I will leave it to you guys to decide ? both rides I would like to leave no later than 10.00 am if possible that would give you time to get here and get ready etc. once decided I will pm every one more details .
Start time is good for me, as we have over a 2 hour drive to you, so it will give us enough time to get there and get kitted up and ready for said start time. Not to worried about the type of run, though I like doing technical stuff, but am just as happy doing whatever route you plan Kev.
thanks guys just waiting on Chris and Russell to get back to me and then I will plan my route , Russ could you please confirm if Kwaka Geoff will be ok . cheers.......... Kev
That if am not mistaken it is Cosmore Drove , not one that I ride very often as it tends to drown bikes last time I rode it I stayed on the bank but it is quite slippery and you risk falling in , I wont be leading any poor soles there on this ride

Would love to join you - and thanks for thinking of me Russ - but I'll be fully immersed in 'Project Decking' which has to take precedence unfortunately . Next time though Blueray for sure
I went out with Smed last week and rode the route that we will be using on the 31st , about 87 miles from door to door I think we will have a bit of every thing Dorset has to offer all in one ride so should be good . I managed the hole route on one tank of fuel riding a ktm 400, will this be ok for every one as I have a fuel stop if needed ? there is secure parking at my house and coffee and bacon roll on arrival look forward to riding with you guys on the 31st and I will send every one a PM with my details later on .cheers ...........Kev

Hi Kev.
No fuel stop needed for me or Rupe, looking forward to it.
Yes indeed Steve I have put a request in for good weather and looks good for Sunday , this bit of rain we have been having will make it interesting see you guys on Sunday . cheers .......... Kev
Well what more can we ask for the sun shined all day and we rode some of Dorset's finest at reasonable pace with Smed and Geoff on gate duty kept the ride flowing , I think the three Devon lads headed back to Devon with a big smile on there faces well TTr Steve did after we popped out of one lane straight into the pub for a swift well deserved pint hope you guys had a good time, as always great company ........... cheers Kev
What a cracking day, bacon and sausage roll before we started, great weather good lanes and good company and low and behold at the end of the penultimate lane a pub.
To round things off tea and chocolate cake before we set off for home, thank you Kev for organising a thoroughly enjoyable day.
What a cracking day!! Turned up at kevs, to be greeted with a cuppa, sausage and bacon roll, the weather was perfect. Went to meet kevs mates and they informed us that they would be opening and shutting all the gates on the run So just to confirm, we were given breakfast...being led around some beautiful parts of dorset.....doing some cracking lanes AND we ain't even got to get of your bike Other run leaders, the bar has been well and truly raised
Cracking lanes out there boy's loved that deep lane in the picture. Only a couple of badgers were had (by others), hope someone got them on film Loved that the route had a planned beer stop on the last but one lane....like an oasis
I also hear they was a technical failure on someone's bike before the run had even started
Great Lads them Dorset boy's, will return the favour soon.
Hard to justify in words just how good today was, all I can say is that it had every element for a perfect days trailriding... it was brilliant (okay apart from me managing to fall off twice going in a straight line! doh)
Thank you very much Kevin for a fantastic day.
