Hi i am thinking of getting a CCM 604 as a project ( have been offered one that needs work ) what do we think any good for lanes ? what's the Rotax engine like to work on etc ...any thoughts or info appreciated ..cheers.
The Rotax engines are easy to work on and loads of parts available. They can be tuned into a bit of a beast to ride as a friend has one in a motocross frame and its too much for the lanes. My opinion would be go for a smaller engine for the lanes but if you get it cheap they make very good supermotos and easy lanes unless you are a riding god
I had Doug's old one for a bit, my first off road machine and I was def the weak link in that chain! If you fancy a project then sounds like a good plan.
They are a good machine but the only small problem is the weight of the Rotax engine makes the whole bike that much heavier. Parts are available. The engine is very tuneable and was a favorite in the twin shock racing series back in the day.
Yep Doug, that's are old girl before she moved on (and no fish swimming around the headlight) I was impressed with the standard parts and looking at my pic Id forgotten what a looker she was.
