Didn't do this one this morning on my solo run out even though its very local but would of thought the council would have to move it pretty quick if its asbestos, us builders call any slates that aren't natural, asbestos but most are just cement fibre and no threat, I take it you mean the West end is blocked?

yeah its the fields end not the house end i would say it is only cement fiber its the council making a mountain out of a mole hill no doubt its going to cost us thousands by the time the go though all the system to dispose of it all i must admit as im not asbestos trained i could not tell you for shore if it is asbestos
i just keep my self to the bricklaying side of things dont like roofs lol
I reported similar on a lane in North Devon. All done online, clicked on a map for exact location etc, all gone within five days. They do have a responsibility to move it.

This Fly Tip was reported to South Hams District Council on the 19th November having been done overnight. SHDC attended and have arranged for a contractor to remove, they have given a target date of the 3rd December. DCC PROW have closed the road with a 21 day closure order. The reason for this is that the road is completely blocked, the asbestos roof tiles are mainly unbroken and we don't want bikes, or more to the point 4x4s driving over the top and breaking it all up. From a safety point of view, the tiles are bonded asbestos fibre, commonly about 15% asbestos. In their current state they are relatively inert, but when they get broken up the fibres will be released into the air; if you are tail end charlie in a group of 10 you are going to get a face full, as well as your gear getting covered. What is dissappointing is the dismissive attitude in some of the posts above which do nothing to enhance public opinion of the TRF on what is a public forum; this is just one road out of the hundreds we have to play with so get over it! If anyone comes across any fly tipping on your travels, please report using the SHDC direct line 01803 861262 which is also an out of hours answerphne and I'll sort it, cheers.....
