just thought I would share my views of my husky that I have recently purchased . after running it in gently yesterday and oil change etc I took it out today for a ride completed 91 miles and still had about 2+ litres of fuel left so I guess about 120ish to a standard tank full , it felt incredibly light and nimble skipping over the pot holes ruts etc with ease suspension and forks where superb soaking up all before it lots of low down grunt yet will cruise quite happily at 50/60 on the road and pull from 35 in sixth gear . I only do trail riding but think I have found my ideal bike very hard for me to find anything to say bad about it but all I got to do is now spend a lot of time doing all the house hold chores for the misses for letting me get it. Must go I have I have washing and ironing to do
Only 2kg heavier than a 250 but incredible smooth power instant when you need it but very managable which cuts down on rear wheel spin incredible torque and engine breaking on really steep drops
When I were bur a lad ALL cars had crank-handles, a hole in the bumper and a ratchet slot on the crankshaft end.
They even fitted them on lorries and buses.
In the late 60s they stopped providing them. No Mini had one as standard - but there were kits to put a crank-handle and you had to put the steering on full lock to align the handle.
I bet there is no cars with crank-handles these days as standard. Plenty of stranded motorists when the batteries go flat - but that's what the RAC and AA are for, innit?

Yes but not a mile up some unsurfaced lane in 8" of mud - Not quite the same is it I would not want a trail bike with no kicker even with optimate, good battery and RAC/AA membership!
Maybe they decided to install a good starter motor & battery rather than doing half arsed job because there's also a kick lever? I haven't needed the kick starter in 12 years on my bike.

shame really JT as you will never know what you are missing good point though messege to one self check who I ride with has a battery fitted
Yea I have seen that one before not 100% sure but is that the new 2 smoke and did the new ones have a bit of a starting problem when they first came out ?
I think they did - anyway, I think your bike looks great and as long as your happy with it thats all that is important I'm just a bit of an old fart, ride on my own quite a bit and as such for me a KS is important - for others its not Rich and I have a bit of history re this subject and I'm sorry to have taken over your thread on it .
I do think that little jump start pack (if it worked) would be a good little item to consider though for these more modern bikes with no Kicker - would like to know if they would actually crank something over.....
Not a problem JT I value every ones opinion good or bad , I personally like most bikes 2 or 4 stroke at the end of the day if we all liked the same bikes it would be boring. I also would want a kicker if I rode alone , but normally always have some one to push me if needed lol
I love that bike Blueray, looks very nice
Am I right in saying it's basically the same spec as an XC but with full road kit ?
I been thinking of a KTM/Husky 350F as my next bike, let us know how it's doing after a few more rides
Does it turn in nice and easy? I got a two-stroke now after 2 four-strokes and really notice how much lighter the front end feels, but I miss a bit of the engine braking - I can't quite settle on whats right for me just yet - I'll just have to keep buying more until I do !
