Sam, rode the air cooled PR5 250 in Spain a couple of years ago and was very impressed. Decent bike at a good price. I've not read anything bad about them. I know nothing about the new LC engine though.
I rode the 250 water cooled and found it responsive, very light and easy to ride more like a mad mountain bike. If I had the spare cash I would get the 250 water cooled as I thought the air cooled wasnt as snappy off the throttle for my needs but fine for ambling.
Spent a half day on the PR5 on a test day could not fault it. finish is not what you would find on a jap bike but for the money it's a lot of bike the motor harps back to an Honda xr as said an packs some punch but it's no full race enduro bike. will place it along side my TTR with a 10 out of 10s a green lane bike so I would buy one if I lost the TTR

250 air cooled has a fuel injected xr230 copy engine. 250 LC is (alledgedly) the same as the GasGas 250 engine - apparently they developed the 250 together (ref Colin @ Thor).
Saw Kev today and he told me about the bike, not good mate sorry to hear it. have a look here if your serious about AJP http://www.the-ajp-experience.co.uk/ think you will find it underpowered tbh.

As said there is not a lot of info on AJP's and a lot of it is speculative, here is what I know.
AJP are a Portuguese manufacturer who have been building bikes for 30 odd years
AJP PR4 - Runs either a 200 or 240cc 2 valve motor with a 5 speed gearbox which is a copy of the old XR200 motor. the frame is about 7/8 size so a slightly smaller bike then normal. It is a great green laning bike and is very quiet. I have owned on for just over a year and I use it a lot for LDT's for which it is excellent. It has not missed a beat and is very easy to ride.
AJP PR5 Aircooled - Runs a modern version of the XR250 4 valve motor with fuel injection and is a full size enduro type bike, it is very similar to an older Husky 250, which I used to own in terms of size and performance. A pal of mine has one and is very pleased with it.
AJP PR5 LC - Modern water cooled enduro/trail bike which shares its engine with the GG cami. I do not know a lot about these but there is a lot of info and reviews on the AJP owners club Facebook page.
All the motors are made in Taiwan, not China, by a well known engine manufacturer who also make motors for BMW, Husqvarna and others.
It's a dull bike really isn't it the AJP, Duller than a TTR with a patina of boredom normally only associated with livestock gathering, farm type machinery and Ladyboy sheep bothering Honda CrF's - ....a bike you know you will get there in the end but you may have missed the fun on the way sortofmotorcycle. Blip the throttle and a response is what you want....you don't own an AJP for that....
That's a very forthright opinion. What is a sheep bothering ladyboy when it's at home anyway. I thought they were made in New Zealand.
Interesting how you can quote a previous entry that no longer exists. What's happened to the original?
AJP engines may be Chinese, does this mean there's state sensorship of the forum too?

It's just a guess as I don't know what happened but you can go back and edit your own previous posts. You can also check the box to say hide "edited by" - thus the change does not get highlighted.
If that is what Peter did then only the forum admin will be able to see the edit.
It's also possible that Peter deleted his own post after it had been quoted, and that would create the situation you have commented about.
So in short - I suspect no state censorship was involved, however another mod may have stepped in & deleted the original.
Seriously take a look at the beta 250/300r or rr nice bikes and cracking engines, new gasgas atm may not be a good idea considering there plight. For you I think the ajp would be a mistake unless you've taken to worrying sheep, with your tackle taped up :)!

been to to take a look at the AJP and on paper not a bad bike but I must say you can see where they have safed weight and money and the finish is not the best
back to the drawing board although Bob i will defo think about the free ride...
There is a good ajp owners site on facebook, everyone raves about them, and there are a few guys that use them for fleets in Wales and Spain and can't talk highly enough of them!
