Trail Riding in Spain

Just got back from three days riding with Hoc, Corky and Colin, my brother-in-law.  I wanted to do something special in my 60th year and what could be better than this with my great buddies?

We went with Trailworld Spain (others are available biggrin) and rode out of Villanueva Del Trabuco in Andalucia on AJP P5 250's .    This is the real Spain, miles and miles of un-metaled roads, mountain tracks, rough open ground and hardly anyone around.  You do have to keep reminding yourself that there just might be something coming the other way.cry  You've also got to be ready for the mad dogs which protect remote farm houses with great enthusiasm, the odd roaming wild tortoise, snakes and rabbits.

Our hosts Andy and Fran Secker were fantastic and tailored each day to exactly what we wanted.  In the three days we did 380Km (237 miles), rode some really challenging gnarly stretches, some easier faster tracks and pretty much everything in between.  With a few beers and a dip in the pool afterwards, what more could you want?

All in all, this was fantastic and I would recommend this to any of you, novice or expert.  You'll not be disappointed.

So here are a few pictures.  I believe there might be a bit of Gopro video to follow as well as some other photos.  biggrin

Seriously how did the Yam engined AJP behave.
They seem, to me!, to be the ideal trail bike.
Feedback please.

Jerry and Steve, I've not got much experience with dirt bikes, I've only ridden a CCM 404 but I found the bike very capable for everything we did and we did everything we do on Devon lanes. Second gear got me everywhere but when blistering along, 4th, 5th and 6th gears were very close together and I was regularly looking for another gear above 60Kph. The bike seemed well made and strong. They'd done about 30,000 Km and had been treated roughly by riders but in my opinion, still riding well. Due to a slight problem on one day with my throttle cable, I got to ride the leaders bike which was the same age and done even more miles. Due the fact that he doesn't chuck it down much, it was an even better ride, smooth and well balance for a bloke my size (12stone 5' 10").

Other than the throttle cable issue, the bikes never missed a beat and were easy to handle. I'll be interested to hear from my compadres.

When time comes to change my bike, I'd seriously consider one.

Some great vistas there! Looks fun! 2495 seems a bargain price for a trail bike...

Oh I see, they are FROM £2495, stupid mcn. 5750 is not a bad price seeing as a new crf250 is 6999... Depends what the spares backup is like I suppose...

Just looking at my vids from the GoPro for an editing session, this one covers about a quarter of one lane with a rather long drop on the left...
