Will need a rear within the next month and eventually a front too.

Yeh, I think so.Getting a road bike which only has a side stand so want to be lift it on occasion.PITA that you have to have 2 different stands to deal with that task .
Does the bike have belly pan/fairing ? if not go the whole hog and get one of these:
a bottle or trolley jack along with the side stand will normally do the trick to get a wheel out or whatever you need.
as long as the color is right .......
what colour would it need to be?Main reason for lifting would be for chain cleaning & lubing, but no doubt new tyres eventually.
I use axle stand's under the footpeg pivots on my cbr but I don't know if I'd use this method on newer bikes. As for a road bike chain these days I use a scottoiler and just occasionally degrease around the front sprocket area.
Abba stand's are a lot more stable than paddock stands.
CO2 more slippery than prison soap!

That sounds a good plan.
Maybe axle stand one side (high side when on side stand) and trolley jack under low side and then lift her up on the trolley jack.
No doubt I'll have an oiler on her sooner or later.. and probably a DIY special.
