At last I am now home on a permanent basis for the foreseeable future, so Welding, Fabricating, Machining, Precision Engineeering, Inspired Bodgery, and Gunsmithing services are now available again. There is also Tea Drinking, Riding and Piss taking and more tea drinking available to those brave enough to confront the land sharks
A lot of folks ask what I do, well here are a few piccies of the latest project, a system that can simulate 650 foot deep water conditions to allow everything from equipment testing to welding trials to be conducted and practiced before the job starts for real. I am the senior project engineer do the design, and then the project management from construction through to manned trials and then hand it over, this job 2.5 years and a price tag you really don't want to know
The green handled regulators are about 1K a pop, the bit of pipework in the photo probably 180K, and this was probably 1/10 of the pipework
Wow,amazing what you can do with an old Gregorys milk tanker and some plumbing parts from Toolstation!Seriously though, that is a very impressive installation, that volume of air at those pressures, scary!!!Must give you great job satisfaction to see it completed, respect.
Could have put a bit of brasso on them pipes to finish it off........
Funny story about that a few years ago, not one of my jobs but a senior management prat decided to get someone to polish all the pipes to make it look nice for a photo, the test inspectors came two days later to start testing and failed the whole thing as they had polished all identification off the pipes, they had to scrap the pipes and start again 6 months work and about 1.5 million to get back to the pre polish stage again.
