Absolutely loving laning at the moment, but fancy a change of bike! Love my husky, but keen to try a 2-stroke. Around the £4000 mark really. Not a lot of decent stuff on eBay at the moment.
I find my 250XC a fun mellower laning bike than my old 200exc. Probably because of extra torque to allow you to plod around if you need to. Very tuneable with map switch, PV springs and PV preload - so can be a lamb or a lion - the choice is yours.
I'd def buy a bike from Simon as he keeps them mint - and will spend money to get them set the absolute best. If I had a free £1000 kicking around I'd probably trade my 2011 model for this one !
I'll be honest and say that I didn't even consider an XC, was always going to be a 300 exc or beta rr 300! I've been riding a husky 310 for the last couple of years and fancy going 2 stroke. The XTrainer was another I considered!
I love it, I was only going to change as a potential deal on a near new one was in the offing - but I was too late and that one is gone.
I much prefer the XC's - I would have an EXC again but I'd always choose an XC over an EXC, better gearing, better suspension, more responsive engine, the only thing is they don't have lights right from the factory but thats half a day in the garage and £100 to sort.
If we ever meet up on a ride you'd be very welcome to try mine, I think they're all great, it just takes a few rides to get used to a bike and 'gel' with it.
I am a proper 2-stroke convert now though although another 450 / 500 would be very welcome in my garage too !
No, just a private sale - I can be (ok I am !) a bit of a nightmare impulse buyer when it comes to bikes ..... I don't like all bikes but if I see one I really like its hard not to
My brother still has his KTM 300XC for sale, its a 2013 model, has most of the updates and the better Closed Cartridge forks, he doesn't ride it, got far too much on his plate at the moment.
Its a bloody good bike and he'd let it go for around £3800 I reckon. fully road reg with V5, full lights & horn etc. trail tech speedo, rev counter & temp gauge
not sure if you wanted something newer but his has only done around 80 ~ 90 hours green laning and runs like a new bike. ??
The bike is in Teignmouth if you wanted to see it.
