I didn't understand the point of building the custom Indian if he was just gonna switch to a bitza for the record..confuse

I think he might have gone faster on the Indian as it looked more stable at 70.

 Don't think the bike had much to do with it, blacking out does nono

Yeh, I agree but if he was on a more stable platform he'd be able to trust it a little more and thus concentrate on the breathing & tensing exercises.
I got the feeling from watching it that the Indian held it's line better than the bitza.

A great achievement.
The bike he built didn't look like the logical choice ( fairly high centre of gravity and a large tank.) But maybe he wanted a bike that needed rider input to remind him of his own limits.
