Very difficult to police, so what they are really saying is lay this injunction because the police have lost control. Glad Harlow has so much money to waste. What constitutes a rideout ?

unbalievable , same old story i bet the majority of riders etc are responsible and instead of clamping down on the idiots which will cost time and money some old fuddy daddys on the council comes up with the easy salution , BAN THEM ALL
The injunction bans groups of two or more people from taking part in unauthorised ride outs between 10am and 12midnight on any public land or public highway in Harlow.
Nothing to stop trail riding between Midnight and 10am.....
Exactly JT but who has the authority to authorise an authorised ride out as opposed to an unauthorised ride out?. How does one become an authorising authority for authorised ride outs?, What happens when members of an authorised ride out are joined by an unauthorised ride out participants on the public highway?. Do authorised rideouts have to have signs front and rear to inform unauthorised ride out participants that they are joining an authorised ride out?, Or more importantly how do members of authorised ride outs ensure that they do not inadvertently join an unauthorised ride out, and are the run leaders culpable if they do so. Should ride outs therefore be controlled by an unelected committee with no chairperson, thereby making it difficult to apportion blame.
I shall at non regular intervals be making unspecified trips on my motorcycle from Beer to places North, East and West of specified starting location. Normally to locations of gastronomic interest for midmorning breakfast. I will not be advertising these journeys but fellow motorcyclists are welcome to follow but not to close to prevent riders being classed as an unauthorised ride out. However on the way back we can all hold hands as we are not riding out, we are riding back and are therefore complying with the definition
I will not be conducting rideouts to the South because according the Dodgy Dave Cameron, I will be swallowed up by the earth, the sky will fall on my head and I will get kidnapped by goblins. This however is total bollocks as if I ride south from Beer I fall in the sea
What a state this country is now in, what morons elected these morons.
I am now away to the engineering hermitage, to sit in a quiet darkened place and try to come up with a definitive calculation of Pi
ps I am reliably informed that Millets now stock an excellent brand of proprietory goblin repellent, rumour has it that it works well on eejit politicians.

Actually I rescind my comment as thinking about it this country does seem to be pretty free to those who haven't contributed much........
Real problem when it's run by some of them.
Good point. Perhaps all people who aspire to any form of public office should be required to publish their tax returns or demonstrate a minimum hurdle criteria for (tax) monetary contributions made before being "electable" or perhaps to be paid to represent others?
Runs a risk of ultimately going back to a feudal but modernised Trustafarnairism .... Then again perhaps that is where we have been for some time with successive elected governments.
As a means to deselect numpty folk who have created a ludicrous and unworkable injunction it is an approach that may help to add some sense and accountability ..... I'm sure the local police who are asked to enforce such lunacy will be exasperated.
As one in four of the population has a diagnosable mental illness, and there are 650 MP's there is a fair chance a looney is in charge
However there is a school of thought that wanting to be an MP is a diagnosable mental illness, in which case all of them suffer from it, and we are completely governed by loonies
Oh well away to the hermitage Pi awaits

Don't know why people are getting upset over the civil liberties thing? The list of things banned under the injunction gives some idea of what went on at the first ride out, but it looks like kids letting off steam.
The injunction forbids the following activities as part of an unauthorised ride out:
Excessive noise.
Danger to other road users including pedestrians.
Damage or risk of damage to private property.
Any nuisance to other persons not participating in the unauthorised ride
Driving at excess speed.Driving in convoy.
Racing another motor vehicle.
Performing stunts.
Sounding horns.
Playing loud music.
Dropping litter.
Shouting or swearing at, threatening or otherwise intimidating others
Basically the offence below, maybe the police should get involved ?
More modern authority defines a breach of the peace as existing whether harm is actually done, or is likely to be done, to a person or his property, or a person is in fear of being harmed through an assault, an affray, a riot, an unlawful assembly, or some other form of disturbance.

Aren't most of those things either illegal or questionable anyway? Certainly would be in any motor vehicle, not just motorbikes. Maybe the local bikers could turn up in their cars instead, and behave in the same manner?
Does the wording imply that if you are on an 'authorised' rideout, then you CAN do all these things? Count me in on that one! What constitutes an 'authorised' rideout?
Seems to be overkill if it's based on 2 events with a year in between. Far too much time on their hands, or acting on behalf of a wealthy benefactor, perhaps?
It's not twice over 12 months, the lad only died on the 6th March this year. They held the first memorial gathering the following weekend, and this gathering was for what would have been his 17th birthday on saturday.
It appears the first gathering led to numerous incidents of anti social behaviour, which was nothing to do with the memory of the lad. They can still gather to remember their lost friend, they just can't tear the place up in his name.
