Charity Road Ride 26th June 2016

Sorry not off roading or greenlaning but just a good cause, as we may need them.

MSC Motorcycles are doing an Annual Charity road Ride in aid of the Air Ambulance on 26th June 2016

The ride is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, 40 miles

Charity donation £3 per bike

Starting at Lee Mill Industrial Estate at 12:00

Where are they going?

I would like to know the route so I can avoid it.

I once waited for some bikes going the other way as I wanted to turn right across them, only to find they were the first riders on the Plymouth Mega ride with hundreds if not thousands following them. After a few minutes and several near misses with idiot marshals wearing tabards riding on the wrong side of the road who came close to hitting me head on I stopped them all to permit my small group to turn off the road safely. These arrogant tossers behaved as if doing something for charity relieved them of any duty of care to other road users and I would like to be elsewhere while they do their thing.

I hope you made your complaint to the Mega Ride organisers and not just ranting here. All organisers are not necessarily the same and I think anything to support the Air Ambulance is a good thing and deserves support.

With our sport, any of us could need their services at any time !

Couldn't be bothered. Don't believe it it would make a difference and would be a waste of my time. Anyone criticizing a charity event seems to be dismissed out of hand as uncharitable. To each his own.

So where are they going to be riding then?

Anyone know their planned route?

Last year we went A38- ashburton-princetown- yelverton finish at Plympton MSC bike garage.
I will find out if route is the same.

Did the mega ride once out of curiosity - soon broke off and headed out on my own......not knocking it - but not for me.

On the other hand I have been on several DAAT rides and they are great with excellent routes, good pace, very well organised, excellent marshals (most from advanced rider club I think) and ones I have been on have always had staggered starts to avoid the issues Pete raises.
