Need to source a new helmet, what are people using these days. Trusty goggles or visored helmets?

 

Is there an option where u can have a visored helmet but have clip on goggles with it too?

I use a visor ed with inner darkened visor. Actually I don't really like it as occasionally say over a small jump the inner can fall down. I tried it as I don't like goggles, now tend to leave visor up and wear safety specs.... so I'm not much help really

The best helmet is the one that is the right shape for your head. I thought my airoh was OK until I bought a new shoei for the road bike. Bottom line is I'm a shoei.
The helmet chooses you. Take a trip to westbay helmet city.

Agree with Nige. 

I am a convert to visored helmets on the lanes but beware the cheaper helmets as the visors tend to be more "pointed" and distort vision. They can also steam up badly.

No such trouble with the Shoei Hornet DS Sonora TC-6 which now serves as both my road and laning lid.

Helmet City have a shop in West Bay and you could ring them & see if they have stock.  Tel 01308 421465.  Keen pricing & good service too.

I tried one on there and then I went away and thought about it. The cheek pads are removable and the rest of the helmet was really comfortable so decided to buy one. Best price was Dirtbikebitz for the TC-6 version.  

The double glazed bit that fits inside the visor works like magic and no steaming up when stationery. Lots of vents and they seem to work! Nice touch is a bit of netting sort of stuff that fits between the bottom front of the helmet and your chin to stop flies and things going up underneath biggrin

Beware if you use the darkened visor,as when going down dark lanes you cant see a chuffing thing untill you open the visor up,
I use a clear visored Arai helmet, tend to leave it up,till on the road work..

Plus one for helmet city. I use an arai visored Helmet, but going for goggles for winter with likely an arai again.
Helmet city give great advise and service, and have price matched too!
