After much deliberating, 3 of us decided to head to Salisbury for the organised charity ride.
That said, the night before the other two jacked, not to be put off, I was at my mates yard at 06:45 nicking his trailer so I could still go!
2 hours later I arrived at the pub parking, with 15mins to spare before the off, I had to rush, didn't want to miss my inclusive bacon roll and coffee!
A quick brief ensued, then I approached some chaps with an "intermediate" sign.... So, our group ended up with a few 250 2T and my little 4T!
5 of us headed off, and within half an hour I was sliding along on me arse, bloody icy grass!! An hour later, we were all soaked, covered in mud, and all the others had come off a few times! After a great several hours of byways over the plains, we entered Imber village, well worth the trip down, before heading to Tilshead for a well provided lunch. We were the 2nd group out, and the last in for lunch, and we weren't hanging around!
The afternoon provided more uber deep puddles and ruts longer than Devon Coastline, with a nice mix of lanes off the plain. Think our route was a bit out of date, as our guide was sent it the night before, and had never ridden the plains, and we had to turn round many times where restricted byway signs had been erected.
Last 2 lanes by candlelight (aka KTM headlight) and back at the pub carpark by 17:15.
Bloody brilliant day, only took a couple of pics, but will share more from the other riders when I get them.
Nice ride report, better than mine.... That ****e mud is like glue..Took ages to get of in Honiton garage.....LoL... prehaps we met,we will never know,i was in the progressive gang.......

Still not cleaned mine. :-/ Wasn't sure what the progressive gang would entail... The route we had was far from technical, but you had to focus to stay upright!
Think the guys in my group were pleased my rear tyre are worn out, there was a few places with you just had to twist and hope.

I'd be interested in a copy of that route if you recorded it, just to check it. There are quite a few restricted byways that have outstanding claims down here so maybe there was a local presumed right? I know I cut 2 Restricted from mine just to be sure as that route was being shared.
Not sure whether it was southern group members who took the pics. Think it was loddon vale. As far as I'm aware I was the only Southern member there. But there's loads of southern members who I don't know as meetings are usually only attended by about 10 members.
