First bike/car is at 5:15, but it's a class O hill, so neither John or Paul will be doing it.
It will be a bit more of a challenge than the 'Ordinary Car/Bike' route entrants expect!
Gatcombe has also been washed out and is also a class O hill.

Do competitors really use Passaford Lane? If so, presumably the fence at the top is removed?
Blimey i was just reading the same and was going to post the same question
Signs are up at back lane heading along the top of Passaford for the climb up to the top of mutters moor then on down to the Otterton road but then you know that
Yes - confused me last year as in my head assumed we would go on up 127 and in the dark almost missed the RH turn
Cap'n Paul rang me to clarify the route last night. Apparently competitors come off the main road and do the short 192-125, then 192-127 as far as to where a track splits off to the right. Then follows a track along the top of Otterton Hill Plantation and the turns a sharp left up a bank which is the continuation of Passaford Lane (the higher side of the wooden rail fence that marks our dead end) but not a section we use.
Makes sense as I have done the Exeter Trial a couple of times and recall thinking there was quite a drop to the right of me in places as I went along the top track just before the section proper!
Anyways up, good luck to all the competitors and marshalls. Hope the weather gods smile on you and that Cap'n Paul recovers to be well enough to compete
The 3 wheeler Robin thing???? Was my favourite and the solo rider who done a great wheelie/jump and then hit natural when he landed made me laugh, he did as well
It wasn't at Fingle - I won't comment further as not my place, but a sad end to a great day.
Wooston then presumably.
I have to say I am not surprised. I know from personal experience how dangerous the event can be for spectators, (You might think you would see a flying stone before it hit you between the eyes, but no I did not and my broken nose still hurts years later). The air ambulance had to retrieve someone with a broken collar bone after a roll at Simms a few years back. Lucky this was only a competitor rather than involving spectators too.
I do hope the health and safety nazis don't use this as an excuse to cause problems for the event.
