Has anyone ridden up this lane recently. It looks a bit narrow in places- is it navigable.
I notice it comes out in the farm at the top- any issues there- it looks as if you come out among a stack of farm equipment. Lane overlays say its not navigable but we all like a challenge !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last time we tried it around 9 months ago it was doable but has been washed out more since, last time we passed we had a quick look and decided we didn't have the energy or an hour or so to do it :)
From the comments I'll assume this is 'Peek Hill Farm'? Tiz a narrow lane with a gully formed because of the water course and if that's become deeper since I last ride it well over a year ago then it's gunna be a real peg-scraper! Where the water cascades into little pools the "bowl" that the water makes at the bottom of each cascade are apparently deep to the point you almost need to wheelie the front up each 'step'. The exit into the farm is also pretty tricky and often needs a second set of hands for a pull up the bank/out of the gulley.
So, taking Russ' comment it is indeed a tricky, gets-the-blood-pumping lane. Have a crack and see how you get on and be sure to let us all know
David/Russell are you able to pst up a screen grab of your gps track along this lane so I can see the correct way through?
After the effort myself Wacky and Pops went to clearing it, would be good to get a few others riding it or is that pushing and man handling their bikes up it
From the North end follow the track until it opens out then a stream comes from the left and there is a gate opening to the right , straight in front is a small bank ride over this and then follow the ravine. ENJOY

Once you've done it its obvious but the first time I went to look at it we tried going up the stream to the left as the bank in front put us of the scent of the correct route :)

I did the same Funny thing is that the stream base appeared to be stone paved by intention
Russell's right : Use it or lose it ! The farmer is just itching to get it closed to us.....
Watch out for the round bale wrap which has inexplicably found it's way into there, it has a habit to get wrapped around your axles, and brake calipers, and .......
ENJOY !!

DGTRFYou're just passing through, make the most of it !
Rode it yesterday- its tight but navigable- exit is steep but there is plenty of grip- 10-15 mins should do it. careful if you are kickstart only it is a bit narrow in a few spots and a stall might be a nuisance- great fun.
no but we did meet a local lady who was "surprised "that the lane/stream was a legal way. A little discussion ensued about rights of way, definitive map, trf, usual stuff. She was still a little disbelieving but ok with it all. There is a huge SWA cable across the lane (must be carrying 11000 volts that Alan managed to lift and it stayed put so can be ridden under rather than over.
Perhaps if you ever get of your push bike on those ucr/cycleways and ride that ginger thing, then you could take a hacksaw to if and we would all know for future reference if it was electric or not ;) ;)

I must admit - when i rode over it I thought it was a water pipe. I was past it when Alan did the lifting- he assured me it was SWA- must have been the weight of it. We did have a laugh about standing there with the cable above your head and your feet in a puddle-
Mind you Alan rode very positively for the rest of the day- seemed full of energy - even went back for a second go at angel steps in the dark.
Might go back and give it a grab myself- could do with a boost
