2000 KTM 250 exc advice

I've got the chance to buy a very clean 2000 exc smoker. Just wondering if anybody has owned one? What are they like to ride? How do they compare to more modern 2 stokes?

Cheers

mark

Cheers for the advice Albert! The one I was looking at has had one owner, very light use and is £1600. I was going to buy and keep the husky, but thinking about selling the husky to by something a bit newer

deleted my post trying to edit it biggrin

how much of a saving would you be looking at over something significantly newer? think of it like this, is a £500 more on the bike a good price for, say 8 years newer suspension tech?

also, 2000 bikes will already start seeing parts getting rarer i think

i just got an 01' 200, i went that old to get autolube, otherwise i would have wanted newer for the kind of money i was spending i think. having been looking recently at these bikes myself and the price difference for the better examples of older bikes seems a bit too close to newer bikes

if on the other hand you're looking at £1000 more to get a bike 5 years newer i cant imagine it being worth it

for that kind of money you could just buy it use it for a bit and sell it on if it is in great shape you might learn a lot about what you want for not a lot of money

i think like me you are always umming and ahhing about bikes, it gets to a point you just need to try a different bike to find out what it is you really want!
