I got family running there. Gotta drop girlfriend off at 7am FFS.

Watch them start - then get myself to Newnham for mountain bike cross country race - then back to east Devon for race end.

Roll on bank holiday Monday!

Well it seemed to go off quite well and also managed to avoid the rain.
Mogwai and I ended up 'manning' a gate at the 17 mile mark next to Buscombe Farm above Sidbury.
First lady was about twenty minutes ahead of the next runner and running quickly uphill.
The rest took another four hours to pass us, and at least 200 of the over 300 starters managed to get this far, although the majority had been reduced to walking by the time they got to us.
I guess about 15% were 'serious' runners, the rest were a wide range of ages, sizes and abilities, but all were clearly aiming to reach the finish.
Many were running for charities and almost all seemed to be enjoying it!
I only walked up and down the field three times to help with a jamming gate and that was enough exercise for me..
A great event and well done to all.
Nick

Brilliant, many thanks Nick and Jason for your help with this event. I popped down to Tipton this morning to offer a helping hand with anything that needed doing,  and again this pm to take some photos of the finish. It seemed like the whole village had pitched in to help. And there were many tired but happy and relieved looking ladies gathered at the finish and cheering the runners home as they came through the gate at the far end of the playing field for the final jog to the finish line. A great atmosphere of success prevailed.

Thanks again chaps.

My apologies to everyone,

I had a few drinks last night and obviously more than I realised. It was something that I read but was an old comment and nothing to do with this post. I bow my head in shame no

Im glad to hear the day went well

Yep, good day out with Nick, leaning on a gate and yapping mostly. Felt slightly bad about cooking thai salmon and cous cous while the ladies were coming by..but not that bad.
